Do you just do custom work?

Mostly yes, there are some items Josh makes for limited edition series as well or low amounts of inventory. Otherwise he feels that custom work is more suited to you, the customer.  

How long is processing time?

Josh orders most kits online, which can take up to a week to come in. That being said processing time can take up to two weeks unless stated longer. If an order can be done soon he will try his very best. Some orders that are rushed might cost a bit more to cover rushed shipping on having materials sent quick. If he has the supplies already he will try his best to get your purchase out as soon as he can.

What type of materials do you use?

Wood (as well as burl wood), all types of acrylic/resin ,  as well as hybrids ( wood/resin). Josh tries his best to find the material you, the customer, are looking for.

What type of finish do you use?

Depends; Some pens receive a friction wax, polish finish for a more woody feel. While others mostly receive a CA finish ( Cyanoacrylate glue aka super glue ) which provides a durable finish. All pens are sanded up to 600 grit before finish. After a Ca finish pens are sanded through 12000 grit to provide a super smooth surface and shine.

What happens when the ink runs out?

Every pen comes with one extra refill in the box ( except fountain pens, they get 10 extra small ink capsules). When a pen runs out you can either unscrew it or pull the two pieces apart ( slim pens do this) to change out the refill. That being said, some pens take a Cross-point, Parker or Rollerball refill. Fountain pens take ink capsules and or use an ink pump so you can use your own ink. Josh sells extra refills in the pen accessories section.

What comes with the pen?

Each pen comes in a little black box with one extra refill. If you’d like a different box you may order a different box from the accessories section. If you don’t see one you like you can contact Josh and he will try to find one that best suits you.

How do I care for my fountain pen?

How do I take care of my trays/charcuterie/cutting board?

All trays are finished with a food safe finished by Walrus Oil and finished with their Walrus Wax, which both are plant based! Any tray/charcuteire, and cutting board can be reconditioned with their Walrus Oil/Wax. Walrus Oil and Wax can be found in Josh’s Store.

Condition every 2 months. If not conditioned, reconditioning will be needed

Follow these steps below on reconditioning:

1. Inspect: If it feels dry and or ashy, that’s okay. It just needs some oil and wax.

2. Clean the board: DO NOT, soak in water! Use light soap and lukewarm water. Then dry completely. Walrus Oil carries a cutting board soap that works well with their products and isn’t to harsh. Hopefully will be carried on Josh’s store soon.

3. Sand: Wood grain can raise over time from washing. Therefore you’ll need to sand down the fibers. Hand sanding is ok but an orbital sander will be much faster. Sand thoroughly through with 320 and or 340, 400, and 600. Josh sands all products up to 600 for that silky smooth finish.

4. Oil: Use Walrus Oil’s cutting board oil/wax to refinish your board. Follow the directions on the bottle. Use #0000 steel wool between Oil coats ( Josh usually does 3 coast when finishing but you can do 2.) Then buff on the wax.

Couple Do’s and Don’ts: You may use lemon juice to clean the board of any deep stains as well as baking soda. Though follow the steps of refinishing above. Don’t: use cooking oils ( olive oil, vegetable oil, peanut oil, corn oil, coconut oil, palm oil, and etc.) on your board. As well as undiluted bleach, cleaning products and or rubbing alcohol on your board either.

How do I setup my NFC Circuit Board Ring?

Make sure the Android has NFC Capabilities and are on.

IPhones under the 7 will not work. The 7, 8, and X will need an app ( one above ) to read and write the code. Anything higher will need just the app to write the code to the NFC. Does not need the app to read it.

All phones have the NFC reader in different spots, IPhone’s is up near the camera. Android’s are usually in the middle.

I Ordered The Wrong Size Ring!

That’s okay! Just send Josh the ring back and contact him with the right ring size! He remakes them for free except for a small fee on more expensive ring cores like Damascus or cobalt.

My Ring is Damaged! (Ring Life Time Warranty )

Contact Josh, and send it back, he will fix a chip in the ring or reapply a finish if needed due o corrosion based on chemical contact. DON’T where your ring near Acetone, Chlorine, or any chemical that could eat away at the rings finish. Josh does have a life time warranty on these rings due to something done by customer, may result in a small fee based on damage. Fee will be determined after damages have been looked over. How do I find my Ring Size?

There are a couple ways you can find your ring size! Here are the preferred ways and then the ways you can but aren’t as accurate.

1. Go to a Jeweler, they’ll be able to accurately measure your ring size.

2. Go to a hobby store that has ring making material like Michael’s, and use a ring sizer in the isle.

3. Ring Sizer ( plastic ): these are cheap, Josh will send you one as they will only be $2. Just ask! They just wrap around your finger and then you just check based on where it wraps to!

How do I refill my lighter?
